Ex-Girlfriend was an all-female quartet formed by New Jack Swing Group Full Force signed on Reprise Records who began revival in 2008.

Group history

Ex-Girlfriend is an female band, formed by R&B/New Jack Swing Group Full Force. The quartet hailing from Brooklyn, New York were signed to Reprise Records and released two studio albums before disbanding in 1994. Members include Monica Boyd, Julia Roberson, and Tisha Hunter, all later given the surname "X" to match their concept of "female militarism".

In 1991 they released "Why Can't You Come Home", the first single from their debut album, "X Marks The Spot." The single went on to become a Top 5 hit on the Billboard R&B chart and made #90 on the Hot 100 Singles chart. The second single released from their debut album was titled "You (You're The One For Me)", followed by the radio singles "With All My Heart" and "What I Would Do To You". After a three-year hiatus, Ex-Girlfriend returned in 1994 with the single "X In Your Sex", from their sophomore follow-up "It's A Woman Thang". The album saw lukewarm reviews and little to no success. The ladies would soon disband within the same year.

Like other female groups of the nineties [TLC, En Vogue, Salt-N-Pepa] the ladies of Ex-Girlfriend believed in "female empowerment". Member Stacy Francis is best known for her 5 Octave Range and piercing whistle register notes.

As of July 2008 the members of Ex-Girlfriend decided to reunite for a new album. It was rumored that the album was to begin the recording process in mid September 2009.
